Tip of the week: Rotate Your Shoes

Rotating your shoes promotes better foot health and longer shoe life.

Customers often ask us whether it’s better to wear the same pair of shoes everyday or rotate multiple pairs on alternate days. Rotating your shoes provides health benefits and can improve the performance and longevity of your footwear.

When we rotate our shoes, we give them a chance to fully dry out before the next wearing. This reduces the chance of developing foot fungus (it thrives in warm, dark, damp environments) or getting blisters or other skin irritations.

Giving shoes a break also helps them to work and wear better. Most shoes have foam midsoles that provide cushioning for the miles we walk each day. Repetitive wear compresses this material without giving it a chance to return to its original shock-absorbing state. Without a chance to rest, shoes will lose their shape more quickly than those that are rotated.
